File cases.txt

This directory contains input and output files for 29 test cases for
MODFLOW-2000 (Harbaugh and others, 2000; Hill and others, 2000).  This file
briefly describes each test case.  For each test case, the name of the name
file is the name of the test case followed by a period and the extension
"nam".  All files for a given test case share the test-case name as a common
filename base.

1. Test case twri:

  This test case is is the example problem in Harbaugh and
  others (2000) without parameters

3. Test case tc1obsen:

  This test case is like tc1, except that the Parameter-Estimation (PES)
Process is inactive, so the program runs in the "Parameter Sensitivity
with Observations" mode.

4. Test case tc1:

  This test case is described in Hill and others (2000).  Observation values
include statistically generated "noise", but otherwise are based on "true"
parameter values.
