                  Everglades Landscape Model (ELM)

                            Origins

The Everglades Landscape Model was initiated by faculty at
University of Maryland's Maryland Institute for Ecological Economics,
under a contract with the South Florida Water Management District.
It uses the Spatial Modeling Environment (SME) developed by faculty
at the University of Maryland.

Major early development:
SME: Tom Maxwell (now at Science Applications, Inc.)
Water management: Alexey Voinov (alexey.voinov@uvm.edu)
