This dataset was compiled from hydrological observations at Bayangaole Hydrological Station in the Ningxia-Inner Mongolia reach of the Yellow River, including water temperature, flow rate, and water level measurements spanning the period 1986-2020. The data were systematically analyzed and organized by professional hydrologists. The dataset consists of three Excel files, each containing forecast factor elements corresponding to distinct ice phenology phases observed at the hydrological station: the Ice-Run Initiation Date Forecast Factors Dataset, the River Freezing-Up Date Forecast Factors Dataset, and the River Break-Up Date Forecast Factors Dataset.

This dataset exclusively comprises scientific data derived from manual statistical analysis of observational records. The source data were acquired through coordinated agreements with the Yellow River Ningxia-Inner Mongolia Reach Hydrology Bureau.
During the ice season from November to March each year, staff at the Bayangaole Hydrological Station collected hydrological data—including air temperature, flow rate, water level, and ice thickness at monitoring cross-sections—through field surveys and radar monitoring. Researchers from the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research processed the data by statistically analyzing relevant hydrological parameters and categorizing them into specific time intervals aligned with research objectives.
The observers are professional technicians, the observation process is standardized, and the observation data is reliable. The statistical analysts are also professionals. They have checked many times and the data quality is good.
