Biological productivity refers to the material production capacity of organisms and their groups and even larger scale (including ecosystem and biosphere). It changes with different environments. Therefore, it has become an indicator of environmental change and the health of the earth system
Net primary productivity (NPP) of vegetation refers to the remaining part of the total organic matter (GPP) produced by photosynthesis per unit time and unit area of green plants after deducting autotrophic respiration (RA)
The NPP products in Heihe River Basin mainly focus on the algorithm improvement and product production of the important parameters par and FPAR of the light energy utilization model. An FPAR inversion model distinguishing direct and scattered radiation and a par inversion method based on the combination of stationary and polar orbiting satellites are proposed. Finally, the light energy utilization model is used to produce the data set of net primary productivity in Heihe River Basin. The algorithm improves the spatial-temporal resolution of data products and the product accuracy
