The Baotianman Forest Ecosystem National Observation and Research Station is located in the transitional zone from northern subtropical to warm temperate zones in China, with a unique geographical location. This ecological station was founded in 1993, officially approved by the former State Forestry Administration in 2005, and selected as a national field scientific observation and research station in 2021. It is one of the China Forest Ecosystem Research Network (CFERN) and the National Field Scientific Observation and Positioning Research Station (NPSO). This dataset includes daily scale data of atmospheric basic elements from Baotianman Ecological Station from 2017 to 2022, including temperature, relative humidity, air pressure, wind speed, wind direction, precipitation, soil temperature (10, 20, 30, 40, 50 cm daily average soil temperature), soil moisture (10, 20, 30, 40, 50 cm daily average soil humidity), etc. It provides basic information for various studies on forest ecosystems in the context of global change. The data is sourced from the Baotianman Meteorological Observatory and is obtained through automatic observation methods.
The sampling frequency of climate observation indicators is 10 minutes (min), and data is collected on-site once a month, supplemented by a remote data transmission system for daily data inspection and data transmission during non growing seasons to ensure the continuity and accuracy of observation data.
The completeness rate of air temperature data is 79.1%;
The completeness rate of air humidity data is 94.3%;
The completeness rate of atmospheric pressure data is 92.3%;
The completeness rate of wind speed data is 94.3%;
The completeness rate of precipitation data is 95.4%;
The completeness rate of soil temperature data is 92%;
The completeness rate of soil moisture data is 84.1%.
