Tianshan Glaciological Station, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Tianshan Glaciological Station, Academy of Sciences) is the longest field station in China with glaciers as the main observation and research object. The station is located in the basic observation and research of glaciers and glacial action zones. His research interests include the physical, chemical and biological processes, mechanisms and interactions of glaciers and related phenomena in glacial zones, as well as their socio-economic impacts. It was established in 1959 at the initiative and organization of the late well-known glaciologist Academician Shi Yafeng. In 1981, he joined the World Glacier Monitoring Service (WGMS). In 1988, it became the first batch of stations opened to the outside world by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 1997, it was rated as a class A station in the field station evaluation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and was also awarded the advanced collective of field work. In 1999, it became the first batch of national key field pilot stations, and in 2006, it passed certification and became a national key station. In 2007, it was selected as the key station of special environment network of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. After 50 years of construction, it has become a well-known glacier location observation, experiment and research base at home and abroad.
