Ruoergai Plateau Wetland Ecosystem Research station (hereinafter referred to as Ruoergai Station) is located in Hequ Horse Farm, Maqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, covering an area of about 7 mu. The station area is 3434 meters above sea level and 18 kilometers away from Maqu County. Ruoergai Station is a field comprehensive observation Research station that takes typical plateau wetlands and grasslands as the research object, and takes the succession and feedback of plateau wetlands and grassland ecosystems as the main observation and research content under the background of Global change and human disturbance. Ruoergai Station was formerly known as "Research station for Comprehensive Observation of Climate and Environment in the Source Area of the Yellow River". In July 2005, after conducting an investigation on the Maqu Grassland, short-term observations were conducted on the surface capacity budget and turbulence structure of the underlying surface of the grassland. In November of that year, a comprehensive observation field was established, which included a near surface observation tower, a vortex related observation system, and soil temperature and humidity observations. In January 2008, with the approval of the Institute's affairs meeting, the "Research station for Comprehensive Climate and Environment Observation in the Source Area of the Yellow River" was officially established and incorporated into the field station management system of the Institute. The infrastructure construction of the park began in July 2009, and the construction of the living area and laboratory was completed in August 2010. It was officially unveiled in September 2010 . In May 2012, the Institute decided to change the name of the observation station to "Ruoergai Plateau Wetland Ecosystem Research station".
