(1) Data Download and Preprocessing
MODIS temperature data: Download MODIS surface temperature products MOD11A1 LST and MYD11A1LST data from NASA, with a spatial resolution of 1km and a temporal resolution of 1 day. Obtain a total of 61069 scenes of MOD11A1 daytime surface temperature data, MOD11A1 nighttime surface temperature data, MYD11A1 daytime surface temperature data, and MYD11A1 nighttime surface temperature data from 2010 to 2023. Preprocess the data by embedding, resampling, coordinate transformation, cropping, etc., and then synthesize the monthly average.
Soil types in the World Soil Database: The model requires the freeze-thaw thermal conductivity coefficients of different types of soils as input parameters. The soil data is sourced from HWSDv1.2 developed by the Vienna International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in 2008. HWSDv1.2 includes the global distribution of different types of soil, with soil classification standard FAO 90, data resolution 1 km, and data projection WGS 84.
(2) TTOP model
(3) Glacier impact
Not considering the permafrost conditions beneath glaciers. Calculating frozen soil distribution based on surface temperature and TTOP model may misclassify some glaciers into frozen soil, which needs to be removed based on glacier distribution data within the study area.
The freeze-thaw distribution data undergoes strict quality control, and the freeze-thaw distribution is compared with literature to ensure the authenticity and spatial accuracy of the event.
